The next steps to prepare for the road construction are about to start, while utility work continues day and night.
Beginning in mid-April, Wildish Construction Company will prepare six buildings for removal. The Eugene-Springfield Fire Department will take advantage of the opportunity to use the buildings for trainings before they are demolished.
By mid-May, road construction will be underway with completion anticipated by late autumn of 2018. We thank you for your patience during construction.
There will be a detour for South Franklin Boulevard/McVay Highway during the construction project. Specific plans are being determined working with the contractor. Once known we will share the details of the detour route. Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained.
Phase 1 construction will end at the Mississippi Street intersection with Franklin Boulevard. The Phase 1 road design is modified to accommodate westbound left turns onto Brooklyn Street.
